Restricted Airspace

Abstract landscape painted in watercolor on a background of a 1942 Arizona map put out by the War Department as a training map. The map was originally restricted, but has since been declassified.

This unusual map of the Vicksburg AZ area shows various wells, bunkers and other features that would have been important during the war. The sky is brimming with ravens and red-headed turkey vultures flying high above dusty ground. Palm trees and cacti are the plants found here.
